About Matt Capodanno
Matt served in the United States Marine Corps for 21 years primarily as a utility helicopter pilot in the UH-1N and UH-1Y. In addition to his flight billets, Matt’s career assignments included Executive Officer of the Naval Academy Preparatory School, Amphibious Requirements Officer at U.S. Fleet Forces Command, and Aviation Operations Officer at U.S. Marine Forces Command. During his staff tours, he focused on concept development and requirements generation for the integration of new aviation capabilities into the operating forces to include the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter and Uncrewed Aerial Systems.
Matt holds a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the United States Naval Academy and a Master’s in Military Studies from the Command and Staff College at Marine Corps University.
Upon retiring from the Marine Corps, Matt served in an operations and project management role for several years focused on wargaming, experimentation, and concept and capability development. Matt joined Prevailance in 2025 where he was appointed Chief Operating Officer.
Matt resides in Virginia Beach with his wife, Julie, and their two children, Dominic and Sarah.
